Hello again. We've been busy with school stuff here. We had open house last week, and Monday August 13th was Kevin's first day of kindergarten. He rode the bus to and from school, but there was a little incident when getting off the bus that made Mommy decide to drive Kevin to and from school from now on. Another Mom at the bus stop was waiting for her daughter (also in kindergarten) to get off the bus, and when she didn't, the Mom asked the bus driver where her daughter was, and the bus driver just said she didn't know. She wasn't sure if she had gotten on the bus or not, she didn't know if she had maybe gotten off at the wrong spot, and she didn't apologize or try to help the mom find her daughter at all. Kevin also hadn't gotten off the bus, and I told her his name, and she just shrugged and said she didn't know where he was either. I stepped up onto the bus, and she said forcefully, "You can't get on the bus, you need to get off!" I got to the top and looked over the first seat, and thankfully there was little Kevin! I pointed to him and said to the driver, "This is Kevin!" And then he got off with me. The other Mom stayed off the bus, and the bus driver had called for her daughter, but no one ever answered. So the other Mom, who was very panicked, got in her car and drove off to find her daughter, who she assumed had gotten off at the wrong stop. We found out the next day that her daughter was on the bus after all, and ended up back at school after all the other kids had been dropped off. So, all is well and no kids were lost, however the bus driver's attitude, and the fact that she didn't have a list or system for keeping track of who got on and off the bus made me lose faith in the bus system. Therefore, we are car riders now. :) Anyway, kind of a long story, I know, but everything else is fine. Kevin's first few days have gone fairly well so far. He always starts off telling me all the bad stuff, but then by dinnertime, he's excitedly telling stories about all the fun and good parts of his day. So, I really think he's going to end up liking it. It's been quite an adjustment for all of us not having Kevin at home for most of the day though. We really miss him! So, the pictures are of Kevin on his first day of school, and Darcy also on Kevin's first day of school. She didn't want to be left out of the photo session! The other pics are of Kevin and Chloe hanging out, and of Kevin and Darcy "camping" in their bedroom. They did this for a few nights in a row, and had a blast. They used the lanterns that Grandma and Grandpa Johnson brought for them. And this past weekend, we went on Saturday to Yellow River Park, where Clayton and Kevin rode their bikes while Mommy pushed Chloe in the stroller and Darcy pushed her baby in her stroller. We had a nice time and went early in the morning before it got too hot! On Sunday afternoon, we went swimming in our neighbor's above-ground pool and had a wonderful time. Clayton played lifeguard and sat out on a bench swing with Chloe, so only Mom, Kevin and Darcy actually swam. We played with a beach ball and I taught the kids Marco Polo, which they loved although they cheated cause they couldn't keep their little eyes closed! :) Well, that's probably enough for now. Sorry it's so long! Love you all.

Oh absolutely not!!! - I can't believe you had to go through that with the bus driver, Kelly! - I am so glad everything turned out well, and good for you getting on that bus! - The kids all look adorable:)
Kelly, your blog is going to be great with keeping us all up to speed on what's happening. I'm glad things are looking brighter for Kevin; I loved the picture of him w/Chloe. Darcy looks as delightful as ever - please give them all a big hug from me.
I'm so proud of you for getting on the bus! That bus driver was WAY out of line. Kevin looks like such a big boy - can't believe he's in school already! And Chloe is growing so fast. Wish we could see you all. Love you guys!
