Halloween

This Halloween, Kevin was a doctor at school, but when he got home, he decided to be a train conductor for trick-or-treating time. Darcy was Little Red Riding Hood, and Chloe was a baby chick. They had a good time. Oh, and be sure to check out the scary mask Clayton wore for Halloween! (Just Kidding....it's real.)

More pictures

The latest installment of Chloe vs. the doll! I think Chloe is winning. :)

More birthday pics of Darcy. She got a new girly bike...no more of Kevin's hand-me-down bike!

We went to Yellow River Park where Darcy got to try out her new bike and race Kevin. Any idea who won the race??

Grandma Johnson showing off the curtains she made for the kids rooms! Impressive, huh? Thanks Grandma!

Kevin's last soccer game, and his first trophy ever. In his words, "AWESOME!"

Darcy's Eventful Birthday

On October 22, we awoke to our doorbell ringing. Clayton opened the door and saw our neighbor, and behind him was a river in our front yard (a water pipe had burst)! Our neighbor had already called the water company for us...a perk of living in the good ol' south. :) But I got a few pictures in. It may be hard to see, but the water was gushing out and sounded like a river...it flowed down into our backyard, and also down the cul-de-sac into another neighbor's garage. OOPS! Anyway, we spent most of the day on Darcy's birthday with no water, but we managed to bake a cake anyway and just saved the dishes for later. Grandma Johnson was here and we had a great time having dinner, opening presents, and eating cake. Darcy got a lot of great phone calls and a lot of terrific gifts and we thank you all for making her day special!

October

Mom visited in early October and we celebrated Darcy's birthday early. We all had a great time with Grandma, and as you can see she is great at multitasking with the three kids. I should have taken more pictures of her visit, but it was short and I'm forgetful. :)

We went to the Pumpkin Patch when Grandma Johnson was here later in October and had a great time. Darcy got her face painted and went into a kiddie Haunted House with Daddy. Kevin jumped in a jumping castle and went into the bunny petting cage with Mommy. We all had a great time and picked a tall pumpkin to make the Thomas the Train pattern Kevin picked out. Clayton carved the pumpkin of course...way to go!

The beautiful flowers that Clayton surprised Kelly with...he left them on Chloe's changing table because he knows I'm there many times a day!

Darcy at the Atlanta Zoo

Hey guys! So, lately Kevin has been a learning machine! He is starting to read and has one book that he can read to us! He has also mastered the art of tying shoes...that was a big deal to him!! Darcy has been a social butterfly. She has one or two playdates every week with her friends and loves it! Last week we finally visited the Atlanta Zoo (after living here for 2-1/2 years!). Darcy had a great time, but Chloe did not enjoy it at all and kept Mommy from enjoying it as well. :) And Chloe has officially rolled over, but only once so far. She loves to twist from side to side though. She likes sucking her fingers and thumbs, and has started to put some toys in her mouth too. We tried out the Bumbo chair with her, and she likes it, but can only sit in it for a few minutes before her big head gets too heavy for her and she starts wobbling like a bobble head doll! Anyway, we are all having a good fall...leaves are starting to change color and the weather is cooler in the mornings and evenings. Hooray! Clayton is earning major points with Kelly, as he surprised her with flowers the other day for no reason...just because! They were beautiful! And Kelly is trying to start FlyLady again, so after I'm done with this post I'm going to shine my sink! Love you all!

Catching up

Hello everyone! It's been a while, I know, but things have been busy. We've had birthday parties to go to, Dr. visits (Chloe now weighs in at a hefty 12 pounds, 2 ounces), out-of-town visitors like Cara and her new man Dave, and Clayton's dad who for some crazy reason doesn't mind driving cross country! We've been swimming in our neighbor's pool again, and we've had soccer practices and soccer games (Kevin is awesome by the way!) We had a school picnic one evening, which Kevin and Darcy enjoyed, although who wouldn't enjoy Chick-Fil-A, lemonade, and a BROWNIE?! Darcy, Chloe and I have also played and picknicked a few times with our church friends. We've had a couple of weekend meetings at church, Clayton and I have both volunteered in Kevin's classroom, and we've had dinners with friends. One night we had our movie night with some soccer friends and watched The Little Mermaid. Kevin and his friend Emily hugged each other during the scary parts. :) Then, later Kevin asked Clayton, "Dad will you take a picture of Emily and me hugging?" Clayton replied, "Sure, if it's ok with Emily." Kevin said quickly, before Emily could answer, "It is." (Is he a firstborn or what?) We went to the Gwinnett County Fair with Grandpa Johnson and the kids rode a ton of rides and had no fear! Today is picture day for Kevin, so we got his hair cut (and Darcy's too) at Snip-Its, a cool kids haircutting place yesterday. And this morning on the way to school, we saw 2 deer in our backyard right next to our swingset! They were so peaceful and just looked at us as we backed out. Clayton took a picture with his cell phone, so it's not the best quality, but it was pretty cool! Happy Birthday to all you September babies: Michael, Maddie, Dad, Jenny, and Mom...in that order! Phew, that's a lot of birthdays to have in a five day span! We love you all! I'll try not to wait so long to post next time!

Latest happenings

Hi again. I never got a chance to put Clayton's whitewater rafting pictures on the blog (Clayton is the one in the blue helmet). He went on our anniversary (August 18) to Ocoee River in Tennessee with some men from church, and had a great time. He was home by 4:00pm to celebrate our anniversary, so I didn't have a problem with him going on that day. :) So, here's some pictures of him whitewater rafting! I've been busy with being a Room Representative for Kevin's kindergarten class. I've had to have meetings at the school and with his teacher, and had to type letters to parents/e-mail/plan things like class parties, volunteers, etc... I'm glad to do it though, so I can be involved with him and his class, and get to know his teacher pretty well too. I also "volunteered" (got pushed into) being Kevin's soccer team's Team Mom, so I'll have to organize snacks for after games and organize an end of the season party for that too. We've been continuing with soccer practice, which Kevin really enjoys and now he kicks the soccer ball all through the house too. So, my 5 year old is definitely keeping me busy (as is my 2 month old.) Chloe is still doing well, and we have a doctor's appt. for her tomorrow. I'm anxious to see how much she's grown. And now onto that middle child of mine, who is now pretty much my constant shadow. :) Darcy was running in flip-flops on the driveway, which she has been told not to do time and time again, so here's the photo of the huge bump she got on her forehead. She skinned up her knees and hands a little bit too. But, as you can see from the picture, a little bit of love and a lollipop helped her feel much better! And I followed Jill's lead and let Darcy bake while Chloe was sleeping the other day, and she had a great time making sugar cookies and decorating them. Well, that's about it for now. We'll write more later and put more Chloe pictures in then!
