Family

Some fun pictures of Mom and Nathan's visit, and of our family just playing around!

Darcy liked to play "baby" with Grandma. Yes, this is my 5-year-old in the baby crib.

Darcy had funny day at school, so she wore this little beret with a headband on top. All her idea!

Our date night while Mom was in town.

Kevin and Daddy roughhousing. Thankfully, this didn't end in tears, just laughter. :)

Darcy has many creative ways of doing her hair. Here's one of them. And no, this isn't for funny day at school. This is just Darcy looking fashionable!

Chloe Isabelle

Here's the latest happenings with Chloe, now 16 months old.

Wanting to be just like Kevin and Darcy, this girl loves pens, pencils, crayons, markers and paper! She sometimes forgets the paper though. :)

Got into Mommy's lipstick while we were getting ready Sunday morning. She needs some lessons on applying makeup, don't you think? (Check out the teeth.)

Hamming it up in the bathtub. That's all the hair I could get to stand up on her bald little head!

Loves wearing bracelets and necklaces.

And she is thrilled by balloons, so Darcy's party was awesome in Chloe's opinion!

Trying out Darcy's lap desk (and eating from Darcy's bowl.) She looks a little guilty to me, like she's afraid she just got caught doing something wrong.

Climbing, her new favorite sport. Sigh...here we go again, a daily battle to prevent head injuries, missing teeth, and broken limbs. :)

Tag...I'm It!

Ok, so Jill tagged me and wants me to tell six fascinating facts about myself. I'm not sure there's anything fascinating about me, but here's some stuff anyway.

1) I can lick my elbow. I received a forward once saying that no one can lick their elbow. So, of course I tried it, and I can! Go ahead...you try it too. Don't worry, no one's watching. :)

2) I floss every night. Dentists love me.

3) I dream vividly almost every night, and in the morning I can remember the dream, details and all. And, if I'm awakened in the middle of the dream (like by Chloe perhaps!), then I can go back to sleep and restart the dream, no problem.

4) Like any good homemaker, I love to cook! The only part of cooking I don't care for is shopping for the food, putting groceries away, menu planning, prepping the food, boiling/steaming/baking the food, setting the table, serving the food, clearing off the table, putting away leftovers, doing the dishes, and wiping off the counters! Other than that, like I said, love it!

5) I like to lift my sheets, shake them a bit, and look under them before I get into bed every night. Why you ask? Well, to check for bugs and spiders of course. Doesn't everyone do this?

6) I like to listen to Delilah on the radio at night if I'm going somewhere in the car by myself. She kind of drives me crazy, but I can't seem to turn the station. De-Liiiii-Laaaaaah!

Ok, that's all I got! Now I'll tag just Mom. Cause Jill already tagged Jackie, and I don't know anyone else with a blog! Love you all!

Darcy Paige Turns 5!

Birthday Party #1 - With the family and Grandma Stenner, at home
Birthday Party #2 - Cookies at preschool, on the playground outside

Birthday Party #3 - Red Robin with Grandma, they sang to Darcy and brought her ice cream!

Birthday Party #4 - With church friends, at home. We played Pin the Spot on the Ladybug, ate pizza, carrots, grapes, had cherry cupcakes, opened gifts, and hit pretzels/fruit snacks out of a ladybug pinata! We had around 10 kids (including mine), and a few parents and Grandma Stenner too! What a fun time!

Playing with all the birthday loot! Thanks for all the gifts everyone!!

The Beach!

We took a last-minute trip to the ocean last weekend! We drove through Savannah, GA on our way to Hilton Head Island, SC. It was about a 5 hour drive, and we stayed in a hotel for free thanks to all of Clayton's hotel stays for work! Woo-hoo! We had a terrific time, and just wanted to share a few pictures...

Lake Lanier

When Doug and Sue drove out from Tucson, they brought along their boat! We had two great day-trips to Lake Lanier, which is about 45 minutes from our house. The first thrill was just the fact that we were going to get to ride in a boat. Then, Kevin upped the thrill factor by riding in the front. Then, upped it again by putting hands up in the air and screaming, "Faster, faster." Meanwhile, Darcy was begging, "Slow down. Slow down!" Chloe just didn't like having to wear the life jacket. :)On both trips, we stopped for a while at a little island to have a swim in the muddy waters. :) The water felt really good and the kids had a great time swimming around!

For the second lake trip, we decided that just riding in a boat wouldn't give Kevin the necessary adrenaline rush that he seemed to crave. So, we decided to bring the 3-seater tube to pull behind the boat. First, Kevin, Darcy and Clayton went for a ride together. Darcy didn't like how bumpy and fast it was, so she got booted out of the tube. Then, Kelly was convinced to go on a ride with the two crazy boys, and had a fun time. She spent most of the ride with her eyes closed, her excuse being that she was getting splashed in the eyes/contacts with water. But she might have been a little nervous too. :)So then after Kevin booted boring old Mom out of the tube, it was Grandpa and Kevin's turn. Grandpa didn't hold lightweight Kevin down like Daddy did, so Kevin flew out of the tube into the water after only about 1 minute of riding! Kelly happened to catch this event on videotape, so I'll see if we can post that too later! So, by this point, the two little Princesses were exhausted and fell fast asleep on the boat.
While they were sleeping, this is what their insane Daddy and maniacal brother were doing...

Whew! What an awesome time we had! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa. Can't wait for next year...maybe we'll try to toss Grandpa out of the tube in 2009!
